NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS TO 25 CITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES

Washington, DC — Pamela J. Meanes, President of the National Bar Association, announces the top 25 cities that the organization will send open records requests in an effort to end nationwide police misconduct and brutality cases that result in the deaths of unarmed individuals.

On September 1, 2014, the National Bar Association will begin filing open records requests in 25 cities that have been identified as having an alleged history of police misconduct and brutality cases. The open records requests will seek information regarding the number of individuals who have been killed, racially profiled, wrongfully arrested and/or injured while pursued or in police custody.

The cities that have been identified include: Birmingham, AL, Little Rock, AR, Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; San Jose, CA; Washington, DC; Jacksonville, FL; Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Louisville, KY; Baltimore, MD; Detroit, MI; Kanas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; Las Vegas, NV; New York City, NY; Cleveland, OH; Memphis, TN; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX and Milwaukee, WI.

In addition, the National Bar Association will send a “Preservation of Evidence” notice to all necessary entities requesting that they preserve all police officers' raw notes of statements, observations and data collected from the scene of an incident. This request will also require information on the officer specifically involved and all responding officers, as well as the officers’ detail logs from the crime scene, and video and photographic evidence related to any alleged and/or proven misconduct by current or former employees.

The National Bar Association will release its findings to the public and will submit copies to the Department of Justice. More importantly, the organization will demand the Department of Justice launch a full investigation and request a federal oversight of the cities that have been identified with problems.

The organization will also begin to host various seminars for the public next month entitled, “Know Your Rights, Because It Could Save Your Life”. These seminars are aimed to educate the public on their rights when encountering police.

Solution for Black America: Reclaiming and Rebuilding (a book and a movement)

Hi, this is your new friend Emmanuel Barbee. I am from Chicago Illinois born and raised. I know your city is going through the same social problems as we do in Chicago. I am tired of Crime, Drugs, and Senseless violence that is plague our cities. Here's a detail summary about my book. I’ve been pushing my vision for over ten years. After ten years of denial of rental space within my former community to start my nonprofit organization and lack of support from established black organizations I decided to spread my vision to the public. In 1991, I created free online groups on 300 social networks and I correspond with 125,000 people worldwide but still to this day I don’t have any one on my board of directors.

My creator instructed me to write my book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” Second Edition. This book is an auto-biography about my experience growing up in the inner city of Chicago. I wrote this book for three reasons: one reason is to raise awareness about the genocide which is taken place within our inner cities in America. Another reason why I wrote my book is to promote my organization the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. GRCAM will be a private for profit service based business. It will have three main components: a social service component, a spiritual component, and a political component.

Our focus will be to provide goods and services to the low income African American communities and working directly with single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families within the communities and cities we will serve. Our agenda is to end urban violence, gun violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance.

Finally, I wrote my book in order to generate capital/seed money to offer incentives to thirty talented people within the state of Illinois or beyond who have read my book and agree with what I am trying to do, for those individuals to contact me and speak with me. I want those persons to come to Chicago and work with me directly in helping me start my organization. I want to make Chicago a model first before we expand to 25 other cities within 25 states. Once we’re established in 25 states I plans on expanding my organization abroad to Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean Islands and assist people who want and need our services. The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is a Christian Socialist organization. A Christian socialist is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. Many Christian socialists believe that capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, social inequality, and institutionalized racism which most Christian denominations consider a mortal sin.

I am also a social entrepreneur. A social entrepreneur are people who try to solve social, cultural, and environmental issues. Some of my Christian friends ask me why do I include secular people on my friends list? I explain to them that we as Christians should focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology. Jesus commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke 4:18-19. The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is a private for profit service base business. The reason why it’s private is for us to keep focus on solving our issues once and for all. It has three main components: a social service component, a spiritual component, and a political component.

Building A New Movement Against Racism and Police Terror

At least 2,337 people—a large number of whom were black and poor
have been killed by law enforcement officers in America since the beginning of 2009. The police are hired guns, a corrupt, out-of-control, murderous, military occupying army. They are recruited by the government to beat and kill poor and working class people who dare to demand their rights and begin to organize to dismantle the system that was created by the government to oppress them, or just black people murdered by racist in the cases of modern day legal lynchings. Yet, too many people in the black community believe the lie that if they “work with the police,” this will stop crime in our community. Nothing could be further from the truth since it is the government which is responsible for the poverty and desperation which breeds crime in the first place. Join us for a discussion on Black Autonomy Federation Radio about building a new grassroots, anti-racist/anti-cop movement and an organized resistance struggle to stop racist police terror.

BLACK LAW ENFORCEMENT ORGANIZATIONS AND VICTIMS RESPOND TO PBA PRESIDENT LYNCH INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC ON POLICE AND COMMUNITY CONFRONTATIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PRESS ADVISORY
                                 Contact: Darrin Green (516) 909-3864

As Black Law Enforcement Professionals, we are outraged over the inflammatory remarks of NYC PBA President Pat Lynch. Mr. Lynch has been nothing less than professional when dealing with the death of Eric Garner, the family and supporters call for oversight and accountability of those who claim to protect and serve. We will be gathering, to denounce the incisive rhetoric of PBA President Pat Lynch towards incidences involving possible Police Criminality toward communities of color in New York City.

WHOBlacks in Law Enforcement of America, Law Enforcement Alliance, 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care, the family of Eric Garner, the father of Ramarley Graham, and family members of other victims that have been killed at the hands of police.

WHAT: As Law Enforcement Professionals, we do understand that Law Enforcement unions play a distinct role in the protection of labor rights for its union members. However, when labor rights are used as a cover-up for violations of department policy and procedures, it can lead to criminal acts and violations of civil and constitutional rights of citizens by law enforcement
